German Brazilians, also known as Deutschbrasilianer, refer to Brazilians of full or partial German ancestry, with the majority residing in the South Region of Brazil. Between 1824 and 1972, approximately 260,000 Germans settled in Brazil, making them the fifth largest immigrant group. Today, estimates suggest that there are around 3.6 million people of German descent living in Brazil, with many still maintaining strong ties to their European heritage.
